An NGO has moved the particular National Green Tribunal seeking analysis on the sale of reverse osmosis (RO) water purifiers which lack ISI certification.

The particular NGO has alleged before the country’s top environment watchdog that RO purifier companies have put the wellness of the people at stake by promoting water filters which are not having ISI mark and were not strictly sticking with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) norms.

The particular plea also sought directions in order to BIS to set zero-discharge as tradition for all types of RO water cleaners.

“The Agency of Indian Standards has arranged different parameters for drinking water and set it forth as Indian Regular Drinking water Specification (Second Revision CAN BE 10500: 2012), but the fact is they have given only the maximum acceptable limitations of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and different substances but there is no minimal level set for the same.

“The absence of BIS norms regarding minimum level of TDS and various essential minerals gives a full range of selling de-mineralised water, that is otherwise used in batteries and different industrial works, to RO filtration system companies and the drinking water industry, ” the NGO Friends said.

water purifier without ro has sought large penalty on the companies which are marketing RO filters without ISI indicate and also sought directions to BIS HIN ZU to set zero-discharge as norm for all those types of RO water purifiers.

The matter is detailed for hearing before a counter headed by NGT Chairperson Proper rights Swatanter Kumar on April thirteen.

The tribunal had earlier issued notice in order to Ministry of Water Resources plus Central Pollution Control Board to the NGO’s plea against installation of drinking water purifiers in residential societies plus villages on the ground that it leads to wastage of water.

water purifier without ro had said that ground drinking water is being polluted by these massive RO systems as highly polluted water percolates in the soil leading to pollution of ground water that is the only source of water for the bad.
